Please Help Us Expand

I have been thinking long and hard about introducing new features to the site. My ideas are these:

  • Some form of video (possibly a transmission of the show taping via UStream)
  • A second podcast (with a separate feed) that compliments our topics here
  • An email newsletter

If we do these it wouldn’t be all at once but there is something that is holding us back.  Plain and simple, we do not have the resources to expand without your help.  If you are a fan of the show and want to see more content there are a couple of things that you can do.

  • Amazon.  This one is easy.  If you are planning on buying a book, or a piece of electronics and don’t need it that day please take a look at our Amazon.com store and links.  Amazon has great selection, prices and delivery options.
  • Secondly, you can always click one of our donate buttons to show our support.  PayPal accepts major credit cards so it is very easy.  Every amount, no matter how small helps, and now we have a recurring donation option which is a painless and easy way to show support.

We appreciate you and please know we agonized before writing this post but we cannot expand without your help.

We are in a tough economy and if you are reading this and have your own negative situation (job loss, etc) please do not give this a second thought.  Thanks for listening and now back to our regularly scheduled programming…

Jim,
I really like what you are doing and I like the whole concept of earning a living from an internet service like this. I don't know enough about it to be of help, but I try to be supportive by using your link to Amazon if I am buying a book and signing up for Audible.com, mabye you could offer more services like that (which offer compensation to you). Good luck, these are tough times but you definitely have the talent to make a go of it!

Thanks very much for the note, Dwight. I have considered the paid model for additional content but would prefer to leave these supplements free as well. I leave it to the audience to decide whether additional content will be paid or free based on their response.

Rest assured, the main podcast will remain free. Thanks!

Jim,

To begin with, let me thank you for the free podcasts that you have offered. I found your site via a Google search for paranormal podcasts to download to my new IPOD. And I might add, you do a great job in allowing the guests to say what they have to say without getting in the way.

I'm not sure what advice to give you as far as increasing your revenue stream. But I do find it to be an interesting concept. Coast To coast AM, the late night talk radio program has memberships and national advertising to pay the bills. And their programming is nightly for several hours.

Why not have two versions of your podcasts? The regular length version that runs 30-45 minutes, and an expanded version for paid listeners that runs for 3 hours. Just a suggestion.
