I second Scott on the fact that Jim is the most skilled interviewer. I love it when the interviewee gets all excited when he asks a question and says 'that's a very good question', and then proceeds to think hard about their response because it is so often a question really getting right at the heart of the matter. So many of the interviewees say this, and it really is a sign of an excellent interviewer. So, yes Jim, you should be very pleased with what you are doing- because you really do it so well.
Also, I appreciate that these shows are more than just 'paranormal' in topic- I find that they often touch on so many aspects of life in general, covering a range of issues...like in this particular podcast. This was a great interview- and though I haven't read her books- the interview intrigued me. I really enjoyed her talking about the reaction some folks have had to her books- which goes a long way in telling how people react to the unknown and mysterious in general, and how she got into writting these stories- eventually quitting her 9a-5p and doing something that makes her really happy. Quite inspiring!

In my opinion, Jim is the most skilled interviewer in paranormal shows -- no question about it. This interview was fascinating not because of the ghosts, but because Mary had unique and interesting things to say about writing for children. This interview could have instead appeared on a writing podcast and still been just as appropriate.

Hi,
I really enjoyed this program. Mary Downing Hahn was an excellent guest: low-key, yet fascinating to listen to. Not only did I enjoy her tales of the supernatural but since I am an aspiring children's writer myself, the way she described how she crafts a book, and how she found the time time to do so, was very inspiring.
I checked out of my local library WAIT TILL HELEN COMES and enjoyed reading it.
I am really enjoying the Paranormal Podcasts and Campfire stories! In fact I think I like you better than Coast to Coast!
Thanks.
