One Giant Hoax For Mankind with Bart Sibrel – Paranormal Podcast 100
Podcast: Download (Duration: 55:28 — 31.8MB)

Bart Sibrel
Most of us believe that man landed on the moon, but tonight’s guest Bart Sibrel says we are among the multitude who have been fooled by an elaborate hoax. Bart tells us about his documentaries, theories, inconsistencies in video shot from the moon, and about some mysterious footage that he has found that he says proves that the moon landings were faked.

“You can be sincere, but also be sincerely wrong.” Mr. Sibrel should take his own quote to heart. He should also refrain from calling the very people he’s trying to convince “pathetic.” I try to keep an open mind, but this guys relatively hostile demeanor turned me off. If we’re expected to believe it was a hoax, maybe should he open to the possibility it happened? Perhaps his film will do a better job of convincing me.
Why are there two shadows on some of the pictures? The answer is the Earth reflects light from the sun. Therefore you have two light sources, the sun and the Earth. Also the moon terrain is uneven. Of course shadows are going to be at different angles. Too bad this guy has never seen the new moon recon pictures of the landing sites. He would probably say they were photoshopped.
A disappointing topic for your 100th show, Jim. Fortunately, this is one conspiracy theory that will one day be debunked once and for all. There is plenty of physical evidence left on the moon: 6 lunar module descent stages, 3 lunar rovers, tire tracks, footprints, and several scientific experiments. One day we will return to those places and recognize these as the important historical relics they are. Won’t Sibrel and his followers look foolish, then!
Hi Jim! Greetings from a long time listener and first time commenter, residing in Gothenburg, Sweden. I’ve always appreciated your gentle way of dealing with your guests, no matter how shaky their theories may be, but for once I find myself wishing that you would have gone completely David Biedny on a guest. He certainly left a lot of openings for it – just look at all his false analogies, for starters.
Hi Jim! First, let me say I love Paranormal Podcast. It is one of my favorite podcasts, and I listen faithfully each week. Not to mince words, but I was not impressed with Mr. Bart Sibrel. I was willing to listen to him with an open mind, but the more he spoke, the more unstable he seemed. When he started bringing up God and the Bible, I completely lost interest. He can believe as he wishes. I will too.
Sorry but this guests history shows his agenda. Have to lie to a a 70 year old man to get him into an interview then calling him a “coward and a liar and a thief” for not swearing on a bible about his moon experience is low. I’m glad that Buzz punched him.
I cannot be believe what a just heard. Just a note..did ANYONE ELSE hear the intense Christian underpinnings of this guest’s dialouge. That indicates a hidden agenda. As for the Van Allen Radiation belt. Its a common misconception that. Dr Van Allen himself stated it was possible. Furthermore the high requency of cataracts by the astronaughts confirms that they actually passed through the belt and recieved enough a dose of radiation that is around that recieved by some one working at a nuclear plant for 1 year.
Why do born again “Christians” always have to “debunk” or “expose” anything that isn’t in their narrow mindset? Just try to say the same thing about a guy rising from the dead and they just lose it.
Unfortunately, the 100th show was the first bad guest. “You can be sincere, but also be sincerely wrong.” Mr. Sibrel should apply his own quote to himself.
This guy brought up some interesting questions that I’d like to hear someone from the other side explain but I feel pretty certain that the moon landing actually happened.
The moon landings really happened, the images some are very clear doctored to show the flag or United States on the module but hey jus think of all the pictures taken how many are always publish?, the answe is US did go to the moon but some of the film coulnd’t
stand the solar radiation on the moon, but,
well I do believe the astronauts accounts,
We did go to the moon, and God bless al the astronauts.
I’m a big fan of Paranormal Podcast, but I was disappointed that you decided to give airtime to this ridiculous conspiracy theory. Worse still, you gave airtime to Bart Sibrel, who in my mind is a conceited ego-maniac who likes to go up to national heroes in their seventies and call them “liars, frauds and cheats”.
I recommend that your viewers watch the Mythbusters tv show where they effectively debunked the entire conspiracy theory.
I’ve been a long time fan of the show. I didn’t bother listening to this show until today, because I ran out of other things to listen to!
Mr. Sibrel’s logic is really poor. Here’s some of his ideas of proof and why they don’t make sense.
1) He said why couldn’t they get a 747 engine working, but we could get to the moon? The Saturn V rocket had much larger engines, used a lot more fuel, and the firing time was much shorter! Rockets don’t “fly” the same way a big jet does.
Sure, they could have put those rocket engines on a 747.. and there would have been no room for passengers, the blast would wreck the airport, and the jet would come crashing down to earth after a short flight!
2) More fatalities with the shuttle missions than with Apollo. Well duh! There has been 128 shuttle launches. There was 16 manned Apollo launches. The first Apollo crew died on the ground. Apollo 13 almost didn’t make it there or back. We were supposed to go to Apollo 20… but that never happened. Why? That’s a show unto itself! Could it be that Nixon killed off the missions because he didn’t like JFK?
Plus, the shuttles are reusable, which is where the two fatalities came in. One with the solid rocket booster’s O-rings failing, and the other with the heat shield tiles. The Apollo missions didn’t reuse parts. Also the shuttles are very old. There was also a much larger budget for Apollo than now.
So clearly we have gotten better at this stuff.
3) He said there was no live video of the moon landing. Ummm, I don’t know where he was, but I was sitting in my brother’s kitchen, watching it on a small B&W TV. There was live video of the landing, right out the LMs window, and I think everyone has seen that by now. I was 11 at the time.
4) the lunar rover has less parts than a Jeep and cost a lot more. Any hand made device is like that. You can find special hand tools, like crimpers, for electronics work that cost $800, and aren’t all that much different than stuff at Radio Shack for $10. If they were mass producing the rovers, and had a market, they would be cheaper. How much did the first Hummers cost the US?
Also as someone who used to work in the defense electronics industry, the US Military insists on “mill spec” parts. These parts have been tested prior to being made available, and are a lot more expensive. A $0.35 capacitor would cost about $24. And this was in the late 70’s. I can only imagine what they cost today!
I could go on, but it’s pointless. Sibrel just isn’t very bright.
As far as why they would use lower resolution TV cameras… it’s the same reason why today all the probes shoot their images in grayscale, and then filter for RGB (Red, Green, Blue) and then we recompose the images into color here. It saves on bandwidth! This was 1969, and they were sending video images, and a lot of other data all the way from the moon.
Later on they had the higher res color video cameras.
So this guy is telling as much lies as he states the US Gov is!
Sibrel deserved to get punched by Buzz Aldrin! Buzz was always a hero to me, and I even live in his home town!
Hey Jim, love the show. I had a hard time listening to this guy after he proclaimed that the moon was a planet, and continued to refer to it as such multiple times. While he would seem to have some decent arguments on the surface, they simply don’t hold up under scrutiny. His hatred for Mythbusters struck me funny.
Out of all the Paranormal Podcasts that I’ve listened to, THIS one is the one that made me think “Nutcase”.
i listened to this particular podcast with absolute slackjaw, often cursing out loud to the ridiculous claims (i’m sure my office mates loved that).
and i’m so glad to find the majority opinion is “nutball” on sibrel. i’ve listened to this podcast for along time, but never visited the site. i didn’t know what to expect, but it’s good to see my fellow listeners are just as skeptical (but no less amazed by and curious about the world’s unexplained wonders) as I.
