Witness To Roswell – Paranormal Podcast 84

This show is probably one of my favorites.. the government coverups and the reliable witnesses are astounding. You do a good job being the host Jim, although I will have to add my suggestion to add less quips and let the guest fuel the fire. At times, some of your input isn't too incredibly productive and slows down the emotion of the guests at times.. this is in no way of putting you off as a host, because I think your show is superb and deserves more than just "podcast" status.. I listen to it every day as I'm driving or doing errands. I've listened to many shows multiple times, so that obviously speaks for your skills as a host.

Great show as always Jim! I just wanted to comment on your speculation about the technological boom following the Roswell incident.

It is true that the transistor was introduced in late 1947 - early 1948 following the crash, but patents for the principle of the device were filed in 1925 and 1936 (as per Wikipedia). It wasn't until November of 1947 that the electrical properties of germanium were noticed at Bell Labs which led to the creation of the device. While the transistor is often considered to be the most important invention of the 20th century, the device itself is actually very simple.

What we have noticed as a technological explosion since then is mostly in the areas of computers and electronics, all of which are based on the transistor. Specifically, it is the miniaturization of electronics which makes for faster and more powerful computing. But even today, we recognize the limitations of semiconductor-based computers, and the race is on to develop the quantum computers of the future.

As for propulsion and spaceflight, we still use the basic principles of Nazi-era chemical rockets today. Not a whole lot of change in that area.

If it were even possible for us to reverse engineer an extraterrestrial spacecraft, how much of it would we understand enough to adapt for our own use? Remember Clarke's Law, "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic".
